In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Edwardian furniture from the early 20th century frequently features lightweight mahogany frames influenced by 18th-century Sheraton and Hepplewhite designs. Decorative elements typically include delicate satinwood or boxwood stringing, marquetry, and slender tapered legs.

Craftsmen predominantly used solid or veneered mahogany alongside contrasting timbers like satinwood for inlays. Frames were constructed using traditional mortise and tenon joinery, often reinforced with stretchers and corner spandrels for stability.

Authentic pieces exhibit precise hand-cut inlay work, natural age patination on the timber, and hand-chiseled mortise joint construction under the seat frame. Original upholstery materials may show evidence of horsehair stuffing or traditional webbing.

An Edwardian stool functions effectively as occasional seating at the foot of a bed, alongside a dressing table, or within an entryway. Combining traditional mahogany wood tones with contemporary upholstery fabrics creates a balanced contrast in modern rooms.

Keep mahogany furniture away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent wood movement and veneer lifting. Wax the timber periodically with a high-quality beeswax polish, and vacuum upholstered surfaces gently using a soft brush attachment.
