Rare Victorian Silver Mounted Graduated Amber Cut Glass Scent Bottle by Charles May, Birmingham 1898

Description

This is a stunning 8 inches high Victorian onion-shaped crystal glass scent bottle with a beautiful screw-top fully hallmarked silver lid. The amber glass body sliced-cut with diamond patterns. The darker shaded neck sliced-cut with honeycomb patterns. The lid embossed with foliate scrolls surrounding a vacant reserve. The inner lid with original cork.

Hallmarks:

CM for Charles May.

Birmingham Assay mark.

Lion passant.

Date letter "y" for 1898.

Condition:

Very good.

Silver lid in good condition , a little uneven at places.

Glass in excellent condition. No chips or cracks.

Dimensions:

Height: 20cm / 8 inches.

Diameter at widest: 9.5cm / 3.5 inches.
