Delightful George V Silver Mounted Preserve Jar & Spoons by George Unite, Birmingham 1920

Description

This is a very elegant George V silver lidded tall preserve jar. The plain silver lid with loop finial resting on a wheel-engraved barrel-shaped glass body. The lid with a slot for the spoon. The matching solid silver spoon with same date and maker, a rare occurence, they so often are lost and replaced.

Hallmarks on both lid and spoon.

G.U.for George Unite.

Birmingham Assay Mark.

Lion Passant.

Date letter "V" for 1920.

Dimensions jar:

Height up to finial: 13.5cm / 5 inches

Maximum diameter: 8cm / 3 inches

Condition:

Very good.

Silver lid and spoon in very good condition.

Glass in perfect condition.
