Hooded Wall Clock Howse Marlborough

Description

A Wiltshire hooded wall clock. An oak case with gilded turned columns. A slide off hood to a rear wall bracket. A small, 8" square painted dial with central alarum disc. Painted floral corners and blued steel hands. A well made 3 day duration, weight driven mechanism retaining the original alarum work.

Thomas Howse of Marlborough is recorded in Youngs' 'Wiltshire Watch and Clockmakers' book as working 1790-1836 in the High Street.
