A nice quality 19th-century Oxford Windsor carver chair, probably originating from the Thames Valley/Chilterns area. Unusually, this has a rope twist back rather than the more commonly seen bar back, elevating this particular chair above the majority seen. Additionally, the underarm supports are ring-turned, as are the legs, which are braced with an H stretcher. Stamped EB to the rear of the seat.
The overall quality is very good with no loose joints and a deep, rich patina.
