A rare English antique solid sterling silver and enamel vesta case. It is hallmarked for Birmingham 1920 with the maker being Henry Matthews. It has been superbly designed being decorated with the enamelled Coat of Arms of Christ College Cambridge University. It is in very good condition being free from dings splits holes and repairs. The enamel is free from cracks and repairs. It has a strong mechanism and is gilded inside. It measures over 2 inches (5.3cm) tall by over 1.5 inches (4.1cm) wide and weighs 34 grams. A very high quality rare example.
