Stunning Art Deco Silver & Guilloche Enamel Dressing Table Jar by James Deakin & Sons, Birmingham 1926

Description

This beautiful and rather unusual Art Deco silver and blue guilloche enamel dressing table jar is dated Birmingham 1926 and bears the marks of James Deakin & Sons. The stunning blue enamel lid fitted on a clear crystal glass body incised with geometric patterns and enamelled with blue motifs. The inner lid with pale gilt wash. The base star incised.

Hallmarks:

JD over WD for James Deakin & Sons.

Birmingham Assay Mark.

Lion Passant.

Date letter "B" for 1926.

Condition:

Very good

Enamel lid in excellent condition.

Glass in perfect condition. No chips or cracks.

Dimensions:

Height: 7.5cm / 3 inches.

Diameter: 10cm / 4 inches.

Lid diameter: 8.5cm / 3.4 inches.
