Antique English Bronze Figural Blackamoor Inkwell - Reg. 1882

Description

A very handsome figural inkwell made from cast bronze with the benefit of a full design registration lozenge on the underside allowing us to date the piece accurately. The mark dates the registration of this particular design to June 26, 1882, a true Victorian example.

The top of the gentleman's straw hat lifts to reveal the original glass ink chamber; it's nice too that the earring are still intact.

A fabulous and highly decorative gem in excellent condition measuring 5" x 4 1/2" x 3 1/2" tall.
