A charming matched pair of 19th-century coastal watercolours by H. Murray. These finely detailed works depict scenes of daily life in a fishing village, capturing the bustle, labour and gentle atmosphere of Britain’s maritime communities.
The first painting shows fishermen unloading a boat on the shoreline, with figures sorting the day’s catch and others hauling the vessel ashore. Women and children appear along the beach, adding a warm narrative element.
