Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Victorian perfume bottles from the late nineteenth century often feature intricate glasswork, including cut, pressed, or faceted geometric designs. They were typically designed in compact shapes like hearts, teardrops, or cylinders, fitted with silver, nickel, or brass caps.

These items were predominantly crafted from lead crystal or flint glass, complemented by metal caps made of sterling silver, silver plate, or brass. Stoppers inside often consisted of small glass corks or screw-threaded metal tops.

Authentic pieces usually display signs of manual production, such as hand-cut diamond patterns, slight asymmetry, and authentic wear or tarnish on metal caps. Marks on silver tops or distinct mould lines in pressed glass also help verify the era.

Small vanity glassware functions well when displayed on a tray on a bedside table, dressing table, or bathroom counter. Grouping clear cut-glass items together catches light effectively on open shelving.

Clean the glass exterior using warm water and a mild detergent with a soft brush. Avoid submerging metal tops in water to prevent corrosion or tarnishing, and dry thoroughly with a microfibre cloth.
