Technical Description
A truly stunning tall 19th-century glass vase (45 cm) hand-decorated in polychromatic enamels with grasses, flowers, leaves and butterflies. In amber glass, the vase also features raised ceramic applied white and pink flower heads. Circular base.
Comments
The raised ceramic flowers are truly stunning and, in our experience, unique, having never seen another example in this form in over 25 years. Probably by Moser but could be one of the other top-end factories from that period and location such as Harrach. It could also be by Pauly & C. who also designed elegant pieces with raised ceramic flowers from 1866 and stood for elegance, creativity and Venetian luxury.
Date & Origin
Germany or Bohemia c1890.
Condition
Excellent, age-related wear as shown. No chips cracks or restoration to the glass. Some minor loss of gilt and one piece of ceramic flower head missing. Overall, in amazing condition.
