Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A cricket table is a traditional form of British country furniture characterised by a round top supported by three splayed legs. The three-legged construction originated to provide stability on uneven stone, turf, or flagstone floors commonly found in rural dwellings and taverns.

These tables were typically constructed from locally sourced native hardwoods and softwoods, such as pine, elm, and oak. Joinery techniques relied on simple mortise and tenon joints, often held together with wooden pegs rather than metal fasteners, accompanied by hand-planed timber surfaces.

Authentic pieces display signs of hand-tool marks, irregular timber shrinkage over time, and natural wear to the lower stretcher or feet. Original finishes may show historical painted or stained layers, alongside natural patination around the tabletop edges and leg joints.

A cricket table functions efficiently as a compact side table beside an armchair or sofa, or positioned within a hallway alcove. Its simple geometric form and neutral wood tones allow it to complement both traditional country house aesthetics and minimalist modern spaces.

Maintain the timber by dusting regularly with a dry microfibre cloth and applying a high-quality beeswax paste once or twice a year to preserve the surface lustre. Avoid placing the table near direct heat sources or in areas with extreme humidity fluctuations to prevent cracking or warping.
