Description

Here’s a very handsome Swedish antique dome-top chest, beautifully framed with decorative metal strap-work. It’s a neat and well-preserved piece, featuring a curved lid that opens smoothly and is safely supported when raised.

The chest has sturdy carrying handles on both ends and is empty inside. The lock is present but without a key, and there’s evidence of an earlier lock fitting on the opposite side. A small brass plaque on the front reads “Torsten Ekblom.” The piece dates from around 1920, possibly a little earlier.

It’s in lovely condition throughout — even the back is tidy — so it would look wonderful placed in the centre of a room. The chest has already been wax finished and is ready for use.
