This traditional Choba Tansu, or merchant’s chest, exemplifies the harmonious blend of function and beauty. Crafted from richly stained hardwood—likely keyaki (zelkova) or sugi (cedar), it showcases the expressive grain and enduring strength prized in Japanese joinery.
