Antique Kurdish Long Rug. 252cm X 124cm.

Description

An early 20th century north west persian kurdish long rug/runner with some amusing and comical motifs consisting of four pairs of tribal figures including one pair sitting on the backs of comical animals and another pair with skipping ropes.

Notice the inner border of a kind of hooked gupta guls in various colours.

Has some interesting colours including a change of blue to the top end of arrow pointer outer guard stripes. Dusky pink central diamond medallions on a dark biscuit ground.

All over evenish pile with a few lower spots,all imaged. Repair patch upper centre top border within the field,competently done.even minor fringes and sides with conservators tape from rear. Very tidy larger rug for the money.

Size is 8 foot 3 inches by 4 foot 1 inches. 252cm by 124cm. At widest points. Minor fringes not measured in size. All woollen construction.

Weighs 6.2kg. U.k post £20.
