Antique Mahogany Shoe Shine Box

19th century
Description

A fabulous original Shoe Shine box dating from the late 19th century. It is made from mahogany with a padded leather top and it has recessed carrying handles. The top section lifts up to provide storage inside for brushes and the height can be adjusted with brass pegs.

It is good quality and very solidly made. It is in good condition for its age and it has developed a wonderful colour and patina. There are signs of age and use, a few small marks and knocks and some wear to the leather top but no major damages. It has been cleaned and gently polished and displays well.
