Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Sheraton Revival furniture, popular in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, reinterpreted 18th-century neoclassical designs. It is characterised by slender proportions, linear silhouettes, rich mahogany timber, and classical marquetry or parquetry inlays incorporating urns, scrolls, and floral garlands.

These pieces were typically constructed using solid mahogany framework combined with rich mahogany veneers over softwood carcases. Drawers were fitted with hand-cut dovetail joints, brass oval swing handles, and intricate satinwood or boxwood marquetry inlays.

Authentic period pieces display hand-cut dovetailing inside the drawer boxes, slight natural irregularities in the inlaid timber, period-correct brass hardware showing natural tarnish, and signs of age-appropriate wear or shrinkage on wood surfaces.

Place one chest on either side of a upholstered or timber bedframe to frame the space symmetrically. Combine the rich mahogany tones with neutral linen bedding, brass table lamps, and modern textured accessories to create a balanced contemporary-classic bedroom look.

Dust regularly with a dry, soft microfibre cloth and apply a natural beeswax polish twice a year to preserve the lustre and prevent wood drying. Keep the furniture away from direct sunlight and radiators to avoid veneer lifting, warping, or colour fading.
