1930s Amethyst Marcasite Silver Cocktail Ring

1920 - 1940
Description

A lovely original vintage Art Deco ring in solid silver studded with marcasites framing a beautiful vivid purple amethyst. There are many modern copies of this type of ring but this is the real deal, estimated to originate from continental Europe c.1930s.

SIZE: P (UK), 7 and a half (US). The face of the ring is approximately 2.2 x 1.5cm and the amethyst is approx 8 x 11mm.

WEIGHT: 3.0g.

MATERIALS: 935 silver, amethyst.

HALLMARKS/STAMPS: Marked "935" - a silver fineness higher than sterling silver (925). We most often see 935 on pieces from Germany, Austria and Switzerland c.1920s-40s.

CONDITION: There is minor overall wear, as you would expect to see in a piece of this age, and the amethyst is lightly abraded on the top facets when seen under magnification, but the ring is in very good vintage condition.

ERA: c.1920s-30s.

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.
