Antique Edwardian Walnut Small Wall Hanging Shaving Shelf.

A beautiful antique, ideal for any period bathroom or hallway.

We are delighted to offer this rare excellent condition small antique Edwardian (circa 1890) Walnut wall hanging Shaving shelf ideal for any period property. This well made shelf is also ideal to be used as a small key organiser, perfect for in a hallway complete with 4 brass hooks for keys or small face towels if used inside a bathroom. The cabinet also features 2 shelves and its original bevelled edge mirror glass built into the back (The glass does have minor pitting in the silvering as shown in the pictures). Above the glass is a beautifully carved panel finished with 2 finials to the top pediment. The cabinet has one small drawer which is crafted with the finest cut dovetails and complete with its original brass dropper handle. As a sign of quality the drawer fits perfectly upside-down in the cabinet which is a good test for craftsmanship as the drawer and carcass have to be square and true. The cabinet can be fixed to a wall via 2 screws and is complete with the wall mounting brackets to the rear. This simple yet elegant cupboard has obviously really been looked after as it's in a lovely original condition with its lovely original colour and French polished finish. We have sympathetically restored this item maintaining patina by just carefully cleaning and waxing this item to enhance the French polished surface and preserve it for many years to come.
