Description

Here’s a lovely old pine mule chest — a combination of chest of drawers and lift-up trunk storage — dating from around 1900. It’s a charming and practical piece that offers both character and versatility.

Under the lift-up lid, you’ll find a traditional candle box on the left-hand side, originally designed for storing candles, with additional space beside it for linen or other items. The lid retains its original bracket hinges, and the lock is in working order with its original key.

Below are two drawers, with the upper section featuring a dummy drawer front. One of the drawers has been repaired at some point, while the lower drawer remains original. Both drawers operate smoothly, and if you choose to have it wax finished, I’ll ensure everything is fully checked and running perfectly.

Available for £400 as it is, or £487 if you’d like it waxed, which would include any necessary restoration work.

Dimensions: height 33.5", width 43.5", depth 24.5" (approximately 85 cm x 110 cm x 62 cm).
