Antique Furniture Direct has dated this piece to the Georgian era.
Having an inlaid arched breakfront pediment over an inlaid moulded cornice above twin doors inlaid with satinwood stringing, centred with shell paterae and with fancy brass hinges. The mahogany with good figuring and patina, profusely decorated with marquetry inlay throughout. It comes with a working lock and key and has an attractive fancy brass escutcheon. The doors open to reveal storage inside with a painted finish and two shaped shelves. A wonderful deep colour with beautiful age and patina.

Scuffs and marks commensurate with age. Old mended split to door (solid) – warped/sticks out towards top and bottom when closed (see photos). Lock is a later replacement.
