A stunning quality Sterling Silver Gilt Edwardian Cigarette Case hallmarked for Birmingham 1904 by makers Boardman, Glossop & Co.
Beautifully engraved on both sides with a Lion holding Wheat Family crest to the front cartouche.
It opens somewhat like a handbag or purse, lifting the hinged top the front unfolds to reveal a 2 part gilded interior. Closes very well and nicely designed.
Measuring 8.5 cm x 7 cm and weighs 78 grams.
A very nice item indeed.
Condition: very light wear to high points, a few dings and scratches, sprung hinge working, gilding bright, a few marks internally, hallmarks rubbed but legible.
Usual signs of wear commensurate of age and use.
