Stunning early 19th century French gilt leaner mirror.
It dates from around 1800 and came from a beautiful Paris apartment.
It has its wonderful real gilt (gold leaf) on gesso frame with curved shoulders, a huge ornate floral and shell crest and side scrolls.
It has its original mercury glass. Mercury glass was not made after 1840, it is the glass used for the Palace of Versailles mirrors and gives a reflection and sparkle like no other. It has all its original backboards.
It is the perfect leaner mirror for a living room or even bedroom but would also look magnificent as an overmantel in a high ceilinged room.
