English vintage mahogany swing dressing table mirror with an arched Queen-Anne-revival crest, dating to c.1910s. Beautiful quality warm honey mahogany with attractive figuring frames the original rectangular plate, carried on squared uprights and neat splayed scroll feet. The silhouette is elegant and slim so it sits comfortably on a dressing table, chest of drawers or console without dominating the surface.
The mirror tilts smoothly on its side pivots and holds position well for daily use. Hardware is original and the frame is sound, tight at the joints and ready to use.
The mirror glass is incredibly well preserved for the age, with a good weight to it, confirming the quality.
The walnut veneer has age marks, tiny knocks to the feet, a visible join lines and a few small surface scuffs along the inner rails; the back board has old chips and wear. All wear is superficial, stable and commensurate with eight to nine decade
...s of careful life.
Use it on a bedroom vanity for makeup and hair, on a hallway console for final checks before leaving, or in a guest room to give hotel-suite polish. It styles beautifully with antique oak, painted Gustavian, mid-century teak and contemporary minimal interiors alike, bringing warmth and a gentle note of heritage. Photographers, stylists and boutique owners will find it a useful prop for shoots, window displays, wedding suites and product vignettes.
