Here’s a very attractive Victorian pine chest of drawers, retaining its original white porcelain knobs — though these can be replaced with wooden ones if you prefer. The piece stands on small, dainty bun feet and is in excellent condition for its age.

All the drawers run smoothly. When wax-finishing similar pieces, I always apply wax along the sides and edges of the drawers to ensure they slide perfectly — but even as it stands, they work very well. One drawer may need a slight adjustment, though overall, everything functions nicely. The two small top drawers are especially handy for smaller items.

Available for £560 as it is, or £627 if you’d like it waxed.
