A fine English bureau plat. In quality mahogany and raised on turned and fluted legs with brass cap feet and foliate adornments. Above are three, oak lined, frieze drawers and a banded top, with inset black leather writing surface, all with cast brass moldings. The table is finished all around meaning it is a '' stand alone piece''. In very good and original condition and bearing the makers stamp ''C. This address was a shop established in 1861 by Georges-Alphonse Monbro (1807-84), the renowned Parisian cabinet maker.
