Circa 1880 the desk features original gilt mounts

Top: Rectangular top with inset brown leather writing surface,

panelled into three sections and decorated with gold tooling along the edges

Wood & Finish: Crafted from finely figured mahogany or similar

hardwood, with contrasting inlaid borders for a sophisticated look

Drawers & Apron: The front features a total of four drawers (two on each side) with gilt-brass escutcheons and pulls. The central frieze is adorned with a decorative openwork gilt-brass grille panel,

lending both visual interest and a light, airy feel

Legs: Slender, tapered square legs with brass mounts at the top and sabots at the feet, characteristic of the Louis XVI style
