The Vintage Wrist Watch Company has dated this piece to the 1900s.
The graduated chain measures 32cm long including the T-bar and the clasp. Hallmarked for 1904.
Also included is an impressive Royal Navy silver medal, awarded for “Proficiency in Rowing, Conway”.

Boys from the Royal Navy training ships ‘Worcester’ on the Thames on ‘Conway’ on the Mersey competed annually for the trophy in a pulling race in 6-oared whalers, a form of traditional fixed-seat rowing boat, alternately held on the Thames and the Mersey.

The front of the medal depicts a sailing warship at anchor depicted in relief with applied rigging.
The reverse of the medal is engraved
