Peter Harris Clocks & Militaria has dated this Colt 1860 Army Revolver to the 19th Century.
SEPT. 10th 1850.”

Crucially, this example shows the faint remains of the U.S. Ordnance inspector’s grip cartouche on the left walnut grip, together with small inspector / sub-inspector letters (including a stamped ‘c’) on the brass grip frame. These marks indicate U.S. Army acceptance rather than purely civilian sale, confirming this is a true martial Colt Army revolver from the Civil War period. The revolver retains its original brass trigger guard and backstrap and all major components carry matching serial number 84685, including wedge and cylinder.

Surfaces throughout show an untouched, even, dark patina with typical service wear. Mechanism complete & in working condition but not test-fired.
Length approx. 14 in (35.5 cm). Calibre .44 percussion. A very honest U.S. military Colt Army revolver from the height of the American Civil War.
