Description

A late Victorian mahogany piano stool, the hinged upholstered seat lifting to reveal a useful storage compartment and standing on elegantly shaped cabriole legs with turned spindle side supports flanking the seat.

Combining practical design with decorative presence, ideal beside a period piano but equally suitable for a dressing table or as an occasional seat in a bedroom or hall. Upholstered in a soft blue fabric trimmed with gold braid, providing a tasteful contrast to the rich mahogany tones.

Presented in very good antique condition with a pleasing aged patina, solid frame, and sound joints. The upholstery is later but neatly executed and the lid opens smoothly on its original hinges. Minor evidence of old, long-dormant worm to the back, fully treated and stable. Clean and ready to place in the home.
