A fine example of late Victorian design, this silver-plated chamberstick and snuffer set was produced circa 1900 by the celebrated firm of Hukin & Heath, under the artistic direction of Christopher Dresser. The design features a naturalistic hazel leaf base, textured cup, removable snuffer, and an integrated match holder with striker — a typical blend of form and function associated with the firm.
The underside is fully stamped with Hukin & Heath marks, along with the pattern number 7936.
An excellent piece for collectors of Victorian silverplate, Arts & Crafts design, or works associated with Dresser.
