Founders Antiques has dated this piece to the Georgian era.

Simple, functional character typical of the early 19th century, with clean lines and an unfussy form that reflects the Georgian taste for restrained elegance. Its modest scale makes it a versatile piece, equally at home in a study, dining room or sitting room.

Presented in very good antique condition with a pleasing patina, showing light surface wear and small veneer losses consistent with age. The brass carrying handles are slightly heavy for the form, likely early replacements but clearly fitted in period. The fitted interior shows expected wear to the linings. Structurally sound, clean and ready to place in the home.
English, circa 1810.
