Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

First Period Worcester porcelain, produced between 1751 and 1783 during the Dr Wall era, is known for its soft-paste body incorporating soapstone to withstand thermal shock. Items frequently feature underglaze blue printed or hand-painted Asian-inspired patterns and delicate floral finials.

Soft-paste porcelain was created using a mixture of white clay and ground glass or crushed soapstone, fired at a lower temperature than hard-paste porcelain. This resulted in a translucent body covered in a lead glaze that typically pooled around bases and footrims.

Authentic pieces often display an underglaze blue crescent mark or workmans mark on the underside. When held to a light source, the translucent body exhibits a characteristic greenish tint, and footrims are generally unglazed.

Blue and white porcelain teapots can be arranged inside modern glazed dressers, on mantelpieces, or as part of a tray display on a sideboard. Grouping varying forms of tonal ceramics creates a structured focal point in both classic and contemporary spaces.

Soft-paste porcelain should be gently hand-washed using lukewarm water and a mild detergent, avoiding abrasive sponges, chemicals, or dishwashers. Rapid temperature changes must be avoided to prevent stress cracks or crazing to the lead glaze.
