Pair of Mason’s Ironstone “Bandana” Pattern Lidded Vases, C.1810–1815

Description

An early and very rare pair of Mason’s Ironstone rectangular lidded jars, decorated in the Bandana pattern (B3122). Produced circa 1810–1815, likely during the transitional Miles Mason period, these vases embody the height of early English chinoiserie taste.

Each vase is beautifully hand-painted in vivid enamels of turquoise, orange, yellow, pink and cobalt, highlighted with gold. The whimsical cloud and scroll motifs draw directly from Chinese cloisonné and porcelain designs, reflecting the fascination with Oriental luxury among Regency collectors.
