Description

An exquisite late-Meiji Kyoto Satsuma plate by the celebrated Taizan Yohei workshop. Thin-walled Awata-type body with clear glaze and tight craquelure, decorated in polychrome enamels and gold. The central figural group stands before a pavilion beneath a moonlit sky; the border is a refined band of floral medallions. Verso with red seal ??? / ????? and impressed Shimazu crest plus square Taizan mark.
