Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Minton Pattern 106, historically known under titles such as Crazy Cow or Bengal Tiger, is an early nineteenth-century English ceramic decoration produced around 1805. It features stylized botanical motifs inspired by East Asian Imari wares, executed in vibrant overglaze enamels.

Early Minton porcelain was crafted using soft-paste porcelain or early bone china formulations poured or pressed into plaster moulds. After an initial biscuit firing, the body was glazed, fired again, and finished with hand-painted enamel decoration before a final low-temperature kiln firing.

Authentic pieces often carry hand-painted pattern numbers, such as 106, rendered on the underside in enamel. Additional indicators include hand-drawn line variations, soft glaze wear consistent with age, and the characteristic translucency of early English porcelain bodies.

A footed porcelain dish functions as a refined centrepiece when positioned on a dining table, sideboard top, or console table. It can be displayed empty to showcase internal hand-painted patterns or paired with neutral decorative accents to balance vibrant colour palettes.

Clean early porcelain using lukewarm water and a small amount of neutral soap applied with a non-abrasive cloth. Do not soak the object or subject it to hot water, mechanical washing, or harsh chemicals, as these will degrade delicate overglaze enamels.
