Grand Scale Mid 20th Century Rosewood Bureau PlatA Grand Scale, Mid 20th Century French Rosewood Bureau Plat with Slides.This bureau plat is of exceptional quality and particularly large size. It has pull out slides to each side and both the slides and the top of the table retain their original leathers which have aged beautifully and have their original gilt tooling. It is decorated in the best quality rosewood veneers, which have aged beautifully. There is panelled decoration on all sides of the frieze with the end blocks, drawer fronts and centre blocks all standing in relief. The panelling continues down all of the legs, which terminate in ormolu toupie toes. The three drawers in the frieze are beautifully made with dovetail joints and retain their original key which acts as the drawer pull. Finished all round to be free standing, the back looks exactly the same as the front.The quality of this bureau plat must be seen, it has been made in a top workshop of its day....
