Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

During the Edwardian era (19011910), hostesses favoured elaborate tableware that combined precious metals with lead crystal. Silver-mounted jugs were designed to serve water, wine, or claret while displaying craftsmanship at formal dining gatherings.

These vessels typically consist of a heavy blown lead crystal or glass body decorated with deep wheel-cut patterns, fitted with a hallmarked sterling silver collar, spout, and handle assembly.

Authenticity is verified by British silver hallmarks stamped onto the silver collar or lid, which indicate the purity assay mark, town mark, makers mark, and date letter corresponding to the early 20th century.

These items can be displayed as functional decor on a dining room sideboard, integrated into a modern bar cart arrangement, or used as a central vase for floral displays.

Hand wash the glass interior with warm water and mild detergent, avoiding sudden temperature changes to prevent thermal shock. Polish the silver mounts using a specialized silver cloth, taking care not to let harsh chemicals contact the glass.
