Description

A fine matched pair of German porcelain twin-branch candelabra by Ernst Bohne & Söhne, Rudolstadt. Hard-paste porcelain in underglaze cobalt and white with gilt accents, each formed as a naturalistic tree supporting two candle cups. At the bases, genre scenes of a boy offering an egg to a young woman, and a gardener showing a nest to a little girl. Applied flowers and leaves with gilded veins; insects painted to the cups. Underglaze blue anchor mark and impressed numbers to the undersides. Seldom found as an intact pair.
