Late 18th Century Georgian Painted Mahogany Elbow Chair (chippendale Carver Armchair, George III Period)

A Georgian period painted mahogany elbow chair, dating from the late 18th century. Designed in the Chippendale taste, the chair features a pierced back splat and a drop-in upholstered seat covered in a quality woven damask fabric of pale blue-green tones. The curved open arms are supported on square front legs and splayed rear legs, united by an H-stretcher. Finished in a soft pale grey paint with gentle distressing and wax polish, giving a refined yet relaxed country house appearance.
A handsome and well-proportioned elbow chair in good condition, reupholstered in a period-appropriate fabric and finished to a high decorative standard. Very well presented and ready for use.

In good condition, commensurate with age. Structurally sound and sturdy with no loose joints. Finished in pale grey paint with light distressing and wax polish. Rec...ently reupholstered in the traditional manner. Clean and ready for immediate use.
