A mid-19th-century Lancashire-type country elbow chair or carver armchair, framed in elm and ash with its original rush seat. The chair features a triple row of turned spindle back supports between turned uprights, shaped open arms with turned supports, and a handwoven rush seat. It stands on rounded front legs with offset pad feet, squared rear legs, and connecting stretchers for stability.
 
An entirely original and very charming example of provincial craftsmanship, carefully cleaned, waxed, and ready for immediate use.
