A wonderful early 19th-century mahogany kettle stand. After Chippendale and very much in the Chinese Chippendale style.
The square top features a serpentine carved gallery rail above gadrooned edging, raised on four slender triple column supports united by a twin column X-form stretcher and terminating on carved feet.
Overall condition is excellent. Some historic repairs to the gallery, but nothing that detracts from this delightfully delicate example of 19th-century furniture design.
