We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Swallow motifs became immensely popular in Victorian and Edwardian jewellery, often symbolizing safe return, home, and eternal loyalty due to the birds migratory habits of always returning to the same nest.

Edwardian bar brooches were frequently crafted using 15ct or 18ct yellow gold, often featuring silver-topped settings for diamonds to enhance their white brilliance, along with seed pearls, rubies, or sapphires.

Authentic Edwardian pieces often feature delicate filigree, millegrain borders, rose-cut or old mine-cut diamonds, silver-topped gold settings, and specific British hallmarks such as the 15ct stamp used prior to 1932.

An antique bar brooch can be worn on coat lapels, pinned to structured blazers, fastened onto silk scarves, or placed at the collar of a buttoned shirt for a tailored accent.

Clean gently using a soft, dry microfibre cloth, avoiding full immersion in water or chemical ultrasonic cleaners which can permanently damage natural pearls and loosen antique silver-topped settings.
