Description

A characterful mid-Victorian provincial chest of drawers in solid pine and retaining its beautifully worn original 19th-century painted finish. Conveniently sized, arranged with two short over two long drawers, all with original turned mahogany knobs and locks, and standing on original baluster-turned feet.

Constructed in the traditional manner consistent with Welsh joinery of the period, this is an honest and functional example of 19th-century vernacular craftsmanship. The dark, timeworn surface has taken on the depth and richness of an old oil painting.

Presented in very good antique condition, the surfaces showing age and use consistent with a century and a half of life. Structurally all solid, clean and ready to place.
