Description

A beautiful Victorian book chain necklace in solid silver with a large ornate locket suspended from a supersized springring clasp. The locket is engraved to the front with gorgeously detailed ivy patterning - to the Victorians, well versed in the language of flowers, ivy represented enduring love, whether that meant a deep friendship or a romance. Both the locket and chain can be worn separately so you get three looks for the price of one!

SIZE: The chain is approximately 17 and a half inches long (plus a 7.3cm drop at the front) and 1.3cm wide. The locket measures 4.5 x 3.7cm.

WEIGHT: 41.3g.

MATERIALS: 925 sterling silver.

HALLMARKS/STAMPS: Hallmarked for sterling silver, Birmingham 1880. Also stamped with the sponsor's marks JR and RJD.

CONDITION: Excellent antique condition.

ERA: Victorian (c.1880s).
