Victorian Gilt Bronze & Opaline Glass Pendant Lantern by Perry & Co

Description

A superb Victorian hanging pendant lantern by renowned 19th century makers Perry & Co. The beautifully made lantern has a cast gilt bronze crown which features acanthus leaves, scrolls and scroll leaf design, floral rosettes and ovolo moulding. The collar has a finely pierced floral design which is further highlighted once illuminated. The ovoid shaped opaline glass is encased by bronze gilt lions heads carrying rings in their mouths, bell flowers and acanthus leaves.

The reverse of the castings are stamped PERRY several times along with serial numbers.

The light hangs on an adjustable 30 chain, and comes with a ceiling rose.

The bronze gilt retains its original finish and there are no chips to the glass. The lantern has been rewired and is in working order.
