A very nice example of a 19thC Nottinghamshire high back yew and elm Windsor chair. Featuring a carved splat, a solid saddle seat, three tapering underarm spindles on either side, and a very regional turned underarm support. Additionally, the arm bow has a distinctively notched underside at each end. Raised on highly decorative ring-turned legs, united by a crinoline stretcher, with the stretcher supports also being highly decorative when compared to the vast majority available.The overall condition is very good, with age-related wear and tear. We have noted a historic repair to the central back splat, but beyond that, this chair is in lovely order.
