A very elegant early 18th-century oak and walnut English dresser base of good proportions and with a beautiful deep, rich patina. This amazing example of English furniture making features a pair of deep drawers to the frieze, with both having naive hand cut cross banding, and a pair of brass swan neck drop handles and lock escutcheons. Below the drawers is a moulded edge with the base being supported by four turned legs.The overall condition is superb given the age, still being in remarkably solid order.
