An outstanding quality Victorian satinwood five drawer chest of drawers, attributed to Lambs of Manchester.
 
C1870.
 
The decoration on this extremely scarce and unique chest is completely fabulous and extremely abundant. Having embossed and many different hand painted designs throughout. To the top are intricate fruiting grape-vines, banded with acanthus leaves to the rounded corner edge. Lower down the chest the drawer dividers are decorated with pretty painted floral designs. The rounded corners to the chest are even more delightful having an intricate wheat sheaf design. The satinwood drawer fronts are banded with beautifully figured inlaid rosewood, which contrasts so very well with the lighter satinwood. The satinwood to the top and drawer fronts have also been embellished with a hand pained design, having a ''birds eye maple'' figured pattern
