In A Nutshell Antiques and Interiors has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
The colour on both is lovely and they do work very well together as one unit providing lots of storage.
The cupboard is in very good condition throughout and is a good sturdy piece of furniture. It has been thoroughly cleaned and has a nice smooth waxed finish. It is not without some signs of age and use, general marks, knocks and stains and some repairs to chips around the drawers but nothing untoward or detrimental. At some point the very back top and bottom edges of the base have been tapered inwards, probably to fit in a narrow alcove (see photos). The drawers all open smoothly and are generally clean and tidy inside.
